The Don’s Dwarf’ Wax Myrtle is a Florida native evergreen shrub with small, olive green foliage that is fragrant when crushed. It is easy to grow, with a very full, dense and compact rounded growth habit. Once maturity is established this plant will reach between 3 to 5 feet in height and a 4 to 6 feet spread. Flowers bloom in spring and the fruit produced by the wax myrtle is a great food source for birds. Additionally, the branches provide a place for the birds to nest and perch. Don’s Dwarf Wax Myrtle is a low maintenance shrub and highly salt and drought tolerant. It grows best in moist, well-drained soil and in full or partial sun. It adapts to a variety of soil environments. Don’s Dwarf is a great choice for hedges or in a landscape.
